Before submitting your request, please read through the tour details below.
Join our local volunteer English guides for a fun 40-minute walking tour. Would you like to take a pleasant walk with one of our guides at Bunka Yokocho and Iroha Yokocho, both of which are traditional alleyways where locals and tourists enjoy socializing? The ambiance changes at dusk, as these retro alleyways create a nostalgic atmosphere that is totally unique. While on this evening tour, you will not only learn the local lore, but you will also get to meet the locals as well as other visitors.
  • Venue: Bunka Yokocho and Iroha Yokocho
  • Time: 40 minutes (Available between 5 pm and 7 pm for reception)
  • Capacity: Up to 5 people (minimum 1)*
  • Price: 2,000 yen (tax included) *Children of elementary school age and younger FREE *We offer a 500 yen discount on the 2,000 yen participation fee if there are more than two people in your group.
  • Application Deadline: 3 days before your preferred date 5:00 pm JST
  • Language: Japanese and English

Notes

*Note that tours are subject to guide availability. To request a guided tour, please complete the request form (Google Form) above. Once we receive your request, we will verify availability and create a reservation. Within 2 days, we will reach out to you to confirm your reservation details. If you do not hear back from us within this time frame, please contact us at 080-2815-8321 or support@i-sendai.jp.

*Once guided tours are confirmed, we will send an invoice for payment. Tours must be paid at least one day prior to the tour date.

*In order to cancel for a refund, please contact us at 080-2815-8321 or support@i-sendai.jp. No full refunds will be given for any reason unless canceled at least 24 hours before the tour date.

*All participants under elementary school age and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

*Comfortable walking shoes recommended. Please dress for the weather.

*Since yokocho are composed of narrow streets, make sure to leave large bags and suitcases in the hotel or a coin-operated locker before the tour. We do not have a cloakroom in our facility, so please do not bring these items with you.

*For the sake of our records, our staff take some photos during our tour and may post them on social media. Please let our guides know if you don't want to have your photo posted online.

*Tours run rain or shine, except in the case of extreme weather conditions. If the event is cancelled due to severe weather, the participation fee will be refunded in full.
