Join local volunteer English guides for a fun 90-min walking tour. On this exclusive walking tour, a local city guide will take you to the fascinating must-see places of central Sendai. We will visit urban temples and shrines, explore retro Japanese yokocho alleyways, visit century-old stores, and more. Not only will you learn the local lore, but you will also meet locals and other Sendai visitors.
Join our local volunteer English guides for a fun 40-minute walking tour. Would you like to take a pleasant walk with one of our guides at Bunka Yokocho and Iroha Yokocho, both of which are traditional alleyways where locals and tourists enjoy socializing? The ambiance changes at dusk, as these retro alleyways create a nostalgic atmosphere that is totally unique. While on this evening tour, you will not only learn the local lore, but you will also get to meet the locals as well as other visitors.
Experience making traditional Japanese sweets with our instructor Chika Ogasawara. In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to make Japanese sweets in the shape of Sendai and Miyagi’s sightseeing mascot, "Musubimaru", and other designs iconic to Sendai, Miyagi and the Tohoku region. When your masterpieces are ready to eat, you'll enjoy them paired with a cup of Japanese sencha tea produced in Miyagi Prefecture.
